Native
AI marketing autopilot for small businesses: reads your website, writes and designs social posts and ads, and publishes them to 11+ channels on a schedule you approve.
Why it's here: Nikhil named native.no. It is the closest product to Kite's AI CMO positioning for SMBs (marketing done for you), so its funnel is the most directly comparable.
How they turn free users into paying ones
Native front-loads the value: one URL produces ~50 finished, on-brand posts within a minute, and the onboarding questions and explainer slides run while you wait. The free tier is deliberately tiny (approve 3 posts) and is framed as a gift, so the paywall arrives at peak excitement and sells your own already-made content ('47+ more posts, made for Kite'), shown blurred behind a lock. Yearly is preselected with an intro price, a countdown promo and yearly-only perks (extra posts and a human strategy call), and every later path in the app (Create, Memory, re-login) routes back to the same paywall.
The flow, step by step

Monetization mechanics
| Trial / free offer | No time-based trial. Free = '3 posts to try'; the real trial is a pre-generated batch of ~50 posts for your brand, of which you may approve 3. |
|---|---|
| Card required | No to sign up and see 3 posts; yes for anything else (no free trial of paid plans) |
| What free actually allows | 3 approved posts ('suggestions'/'swipes'). A 15-token balance is shown, but Create (post/ad/design), Memory and 'See the rest' all open the paywall. Channels can be picked but nothing publishes without connecting accounts. |
| How usage is shown | Two tiny counters bottom-left of the sidebar: swipes left (3→2→1→0) and tokens (15). Pricing page converts tokens to outputs ('10 tokens a post or ad, 5 per edit, 8 per chat image'). |
| Discounts & annual nudges | Halloween-week '40% off yearly plans' with a live countdown (landing banner + paywall). Yearly preselected; '$47 first year' intro price with 'Save $379 the first year'. Yearly-only perks: +10 posts/month and a '1-on-1 setup and strategy call'. 'Use my own promo code instead' link. |
| Sales assist | Agency and Enterprise are 'Contact sales'; the 1-on-1 setup and strategy call is a yearly-only perk. No demo booking in the self-serve flow. |
| Time to value | ~2 minutes: URL entered at minute 1, 'Your posts are ready!' about 60 s later, with real on-brand LinkedIn carousels for Kite. |
| Aha moment | Posts about your own business, in your brand style, appear before you've answered a single question (the website is the whole brief). |
| Account used | Email sign-up (Auth0 passwordless code + password) with throwaway natived150r4@maxxspace.com (mail.tm). Website entered: kite.ai. |
| Geo note | Marketing site auto-redirects to Hindi (/hi) from the India IP; app prices show in USD but Stripe checkout charges INR (₹7,821.86/mo for Pro monthly). |
Plans
| Plan | Price | Billing | Includes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 3 posts to try (3 'suggestions'), 15 tokens shown on the meter; every other creation path is paywalled | |
| Pro | $79/mo monthly; $47/mo yearly ($569 first year, then $758/yr = $63/mo) | monthly or yearly | 1 brand, 60 suggestions/mo on yearly (50 monthly), 600 Native tokens/mo yearly (500 monthly), all channels, auto-publish, analytics; +$39 per extra brand |
| Max | $249/mo monthly; $149/mo yearly first year, then $199/mo | monthly or yearly | 3 brands, 300 suggestions, 3,000 tokens (yearly), video generation (beta), early access |
| Agency | from $399/mo billed yearly | yearly | 10 client workspaces (+$69 each), 500 tokens + 50 suggestions per workspace, named account manager; Contact sales |
| Enterprise | custom | forward-deployed marketers, multi-location control; Contact sales |
Paywall triggers
- Approving the 3rd free post → 'Ready to see the rest?' card, then the full paywall (steps 27-28)
- Clicking Create > Post with tokens still left (step 34)
- Opening Memory (step 37)
- Returning to the app later lands directly on the paywall (step 32)
Upgrade prompts & copy
- 'See the rest of your posts' (history panel and the 0-swipes card), steps 26-27
- Paywall headline '47+ more posts, made for Kite. Pick a plan to unlock them.' + button 'Unlock 47+ posts with Pro', step 28
- 'See everything you unlock' modal: 'Your 47+ posts are waiting', step 29
- Pricing page 'Get started with Pro/Max', 'Try for free', header 'Try now'
Lifecycle emails
- Verify your identity (verify, 2026-10-28 20:04 UTC)
What Kite could take from it
- Do the work before asking for anything: a URL-only start that returns finished, on-brand output in about a minute beats a long setup survey. Ask the questions during the wait.
- Paywall the user's own generated work ('your 47 posts are waiting'), not abstract features or credits; it turns the upgrade into loss aversion.
- Keep the free unit small and countable (3 swipes) with a visible counter, so the limit feels fair and the paywall moment is predictable.
- Annual nudges that add a human touch (a 1-on-1 strategy call) are an easy lever for an AI CMO where trust is the blocker.
Caveats: No lifecycle email beyond the verification code arrived during the run. Checkout stopped at the Stripe page (payment form never rendered headless). The meaning of the 15 free tokens is unclear because every token-spending action was paywalled.
